ABOUT THE ACSM NORTHWEST

The mission of the Northwest Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM Northwest) is to promote, advance, and integrate educational and practical applications with current scientific research in the fields of Exercise Science and Sports Medicine. In doing so, the ACSM Northwest will provide current and future health professionals the knowledge and tools to promote and enhance strategies for optimizing health, fitness, physical performance, and quality of life throughout the age spectrum.

There are three ways that the ACSM Northwest accomplishes this mission within the Northwest region (Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington).

Setting the Standard for Sports Medicine
in the Pacifiic Northwest

First, the ACSM Northwest hosts the Annual Meeting, an event organized around presentations by regionally and nationally renowned scientists, clinicians, educators, and health/fitness professionals. The Annual Meeting is our region’s primary meeting opportunity for health professionals and
students wanting to keep abreast of the latest knowledge and trends in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine.

Second, the Annual Meeting also provides undergraduate, masters, and doctoral students the opportunity to present their own research and begin the transformation from students to professionals in their various disciplines.

Lastly, the ACSM Northwest strives to keep students and professionals within the Northwest Sports Medicine community in touch with the national American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). The ACSM is the largest Sports Medicine organization in the world with more than 20,000 members.

Substantial funding is needed to annually deliver a world-class meeting that satisfies our mission to members and the Northwest community. As an ACSM Northwest sponsor, your company / organization can become an integral part of this educational opportunity.
